Suzanne & Jonathan

About The Wedding
Suzanne and Jonathan met while they were both working at a local restaurant. Their wedding took place in the beautiful Garden Overlook at the Emory Conference Center Hotel. This is an indoor space that's glass on three sides, overlooking the Emory woods. It's a good thing we were inside, because it poured down rain right in the middle of the ceremony! Suzanne (who is Jewish) and Jonathan (who is not) worked together to create a very personal, meaningful ceremony, complete with personal messages and a reading in English of the Seven Blessings that are the centerpiece of the Jewish wedding ceremony. A seated dinner and dancing followed, and it was so sweet to see the newlyweds enjoying themselves on the dance floor. So often you see the bride out dancing with her friends, but in this case Jonathan was right out there with her the whole evening.
My Favorite Detail
Suzanne recently lost her grandfather, so to honor him, they designed a completely unique huppah decorated with feathers from his feather duster business. It was absolutely stunning, and very meaningful to Suzanne and her mother and grandmother.
My Favorite Moment
A wedding is a new beginning for the couple, as they build their new life together (even if they've been together a long time). I love getting to hear the words of wisdom imparted during the ceremony and during the speeches. It constantly reminds me to be grateful for the love and blessings I have in my own life.
