About The Wedding
Linda and Paul contacted me in February, having trouble finding a venue for their summer wedding. They fell in love with the Solarium and we built their simple, relaxed, intimate wedding from there, taking inspiration from the clean lines and natural light. At first they were thinking of an outdoor ceremony, but they quickly realized that having it indoors was better - both for privacy and weather concerns. Unique Floral Expressions created beautiful centerpieces to blend with the "Linda Purple" (lavender) and white linens, and even managed to creatively cover the doorway at the end of the room with draping, to serve as the "altar" for the ceremony, much to Linda's delight. After a moving, personalized ceremony officiated by "his and hers" officiants, guests enjoyed the beautiful weather on the front terrace and then sat down to a delicious buffet dinner from A Divine Event, followed by "the best cake Linda has ever tasted" from Alpine Bakery.

My Favorite Detail
Linda and Paul's five grandchildren (ages 9 years down to 1 year) were all set to begin the processional by entering in a wagon (in which some would ride, and others walk beside). However, as may happen, the two riders decided at the last minute that they weren't having any of it! Mason still pulled the wagon in, the younger children were carried in, and it was just as cute a moment! The best part was the song to which they entered: Amor Capella (“Chapel of Love”), better known as "Going to the chapel, gonna get married!"

My Favorite Moment
Although they were planning a First Look (and actually got ready in the same house, without any "seeing each other" incidents), Linda did not want to ride to the Solarium with Paul and their children. After some debate about what to do, I offered to drive her myself. On the drive over I got to learn more about how they put together their ceremony and why some of the elements were meaningful to the two of them. I love the trust that develops between me and my clients, and that for brief moments, I am privy to these important details in their lives during the time that our paths cross.
