Michelle & Jonathan

About The Wedding
Michelle and Jonathan's wedding was classic and pretty, decorated in whites and greens with eggplant as the accent color, which I always love as a summer palette. We got very lucky with the weather - July in Atlanta has a tendency to be hot, with pop-up thunderstorms. We had a beautiful sunny day that enabled Michelle to get the outdoor pictures she wanted. The bride and groom kept apart before their traditional Catholic ceremony, officiated by their priest from UGA. He gave a lovely homily, sharing some personal observations about both of them and their relationship, which he watched grow and flourish. After the church photos, we went for a private photo shoot at a great spot at Chastain Park, and then continued on to the Georgian Terrace (oh, don't we love the Friday traffic in Atlanta!), barely avoiding a terrible rainstorm. After Michelle and Jonathan greeted their guests from the famous Juliet balcony in the ballroom, guests enjoyed a seated and served dinner and dancing, punctuated by delicious cake, including a penguin groom's cake (because Jonathan loves penguins, why not?).
My Favorite Detail
Michelle wore her mother's veil as her "something old" - always a sweet touch!
My Favorite Moment
I was hired just about a month out from the wedding. Bernadette (Michelle's mother) was the one who hired me to help them wrap up all the last-minute details. Near the end of the wedding she pulled me aside and told me that although Michelle originally didn't think a coordinator was needed, that she had recently told Bernadette that hiring me was the best decision they made. I love hearing that. Always glad to be of service!
