Laurel & Allen

About The Wedding
Laurel and Allen are both super laid back people, and they wanted their wedding day to feel like them: fun and casual. The weather that day could not have been better - it felt like a cool fall day, rather than mid-August! The ceremony took place at Laurel's family church, where her parents were actually married as well. However, Laurel and Allen had their ceremony in the newly renovated chapel (they were the first wedding to be held there since the renovation). The simple, intimate space was perfect. Laurel's family has embraced Allen (an orphan) and his five-year-old son, who was his Best Man. To honor the memory of Allen's parents, we placed two single roses on the front pew where they would have been seated. After the ceremony, guests headed downtown to the Trolley Barn, where delicious hors d'oeurves and cornhole awaited them on the garden terrace. After watching Laurel and Allen enter down the spiral stairs and dance for the first time as husband and wife, the guests returned outside for the next phase of dinner: the taco truck. The meal wrapped up with a beautiful dessert bar from Epic, complete with a tiered Krispy Kreme donut cake as a surprise for Allen (he was so excited!). After some fun on the dance floor, Laurel and Allen departed in the groom's truck, which the bridesmaids had decorated old-school-style, with painted windows and beer cans tied to the back!
My Favorite Detail
Laurel had ordered beautiful handmade garters with lace and fabric flowers from Etsy - one for tossing and one for keeping. So much better than the generic David's Bridal version!
My Favorite Moment
At the end of the night, we looked around for Tristan (the five-year-old best man), and found him completely racked out in his new grandfather's arms. So sweet!
