About The Wedding
This was the second marriage for both Shaanta and Edward. He is a principal, she is a doctor, and they met because their daughters are the same age and both attend his school. They came to me a few months out from the wedding, looking for a laid back, uncomplicated day, which fits their personalities perfectly. Shaanta's childhood friend officiated the brief but meaningful ceremony, which incorporated the two girls as well as an Indian necklace tradition from Shaanta's family. A buffet dinner and dancing followed in the Solarium, which was decorated with subtle colors and Art Deco touches (on the cake, for example).
My Favorite Detail
The wedding party consisted of the couple's daughters. Kyra was her mom's maid of honor, and Alia wore a little suit and was her dad's "best daughter."
My Favorite Moment
Shaanta was so relaxed and happy the whole day! Before the ceremony she was kicking back with a gin and tonic in the bride's room, with her best friends all around her, laughing and having a great time. No bride's nerves at all!
