About The Wedding
Alissa and Adam worked together for over a year in planning their wedding, which Alissa knew would include a music theme to honor Adam's background (he plays in a local band). A color scheme of teal, black and ivory looked beautiful and modern in King Plow Arts Center. The florist outdid herself, making wire flowers out of actual guitar strings, and incorporating antique items like books, trays, doilies and various vases and silver pieces into different tablescapes. Unfortunately, Alissa's mother passed away unexpectedly last fall, so using some of her possessions became even more meaningful for Alissa. The music theme also continued with an actual guitar (in teal, of course) used as a guest book. On a gorgeous early spring day (I am loving this trend of mild weekends so far this year!), Alissa floated down the aisle in a tulle-skirted gown. The ceremony included the placing of a memory rose on an empty seat, and the lighting of a unity candle. Guests then enjoyed a Southern buffet, and the delicious cakes, plus a photo booth to go along with the dancing. Sparklers lit the way for the couple's departure in a vintage car.

My Favorite Detail
As a surprise, Alissa ordered a groom's cake for Adam, in the shape of a guitar, of course. But not just any old guitar - it was designed like his actual guitar. He was completely surprised and thrilled!

My Favorite Moment
Adam and some of his band members performed a couple of songs for their adoring fans.
