About The Wedding
There are some weddings where the weather doesn't matter so much...this wedding was not one of those! For 15 months, as Sara and her mom and I put together the plans, we thought about and hoped and wished for a perfect evening, so the outdoor dinner wouldn't be ruined. And oh my goodness, did Mother Nature deliver! The day began early, as Sara and her girls got ready at Sara's parents' home. Sara had gotten them cute floral robes as gifts, which they all wore before dressing in long mint green chiffon gowns. Off we went to the church, where Sara dressed in her gorgeous tulle-skirted gown (the design of which was a surprise to all the bridesmaids), and then had First Look photos with her teary-eyed dad and brother. The theme of the day was family, as you are probably starting to see. A lovely ceremony followed, during which Sara and Craig read vows to each other that they had written. The church allowed them to stand on opposite sides for the vows, so the mothers could see their child's face as the vows and rings were exchanged. Once they were married, the fun continued! The wedding party and bride and groom drove off in a white trolley for photos around Downtown Norcross, while the parents returned to the hotel to host a Derby party in the hospitality suite. When it was time to head to the reception, the trolley arrived to shuttle the guests to Flint Hill, an historic plantation home in Downtown Norcross (close to my heart as that is where my husband and I held our wedding reception!). Guests were greeted with passed champagne on the front porch, and they signed a quilt square (which Sara and Craig's moms intend to make into a quilt for them), and enjoyed the house, patio and ballroom before finding their seats (written on old windows that were hung on the porch) for a delicious served dinner. As I mentioned, Sara's vision was for dinner to take place under the stars in Flint Hill's lovely enclosed garden. Believe me when I say that between the heavenly weather and the gorgeous decor and the twinkling lights overhead and in all the bushes, it truly was a magical setting. After dinner, the dance floor opened and guests had a fabulous time until alas, the time came for the bride and groom to depart, which they did as guests blew bubbles. As the trolley took all the guests away, Sara's parents hugged me and reveled in the perfect day.

My Favorite Detail
Since the theme was family, Sara and Craig's mothers spent months gathering family photos and heirlooms to display in the ballroom during the reception. As well as the usual family photos (in this case, they even had several great-grandparents' wedding photos), the display also included Sara's family Bible, with all the family births, weddings and deaths recorded, as well as the framed marriage certificate of Craig's grandparents. It was a lovely table and guests enjoyed perusing the family history.

My Favorite Moment
At the end of the night, as the last dance was ending, the guests gathered around Sara and Craig on the dance floor as they kissed and kissed. After 8 years of dating (4 of them long distance!) and Sara's completion of medical school, this wedding truly was a long time coming and they had enjoyed every minute of it.

Comments From The Family
"We can't say enough about Daria MacGregor and Circle of Love Weddings!!! The attention to detail and planning was incredible. According to our many guests (197) our daughter's wedding was the most beautiful, well-thought-out and well-planned event they had ever been to...and this was from a very discriminating crowd!!! Here's to Daria for making this a wedding that many will never forget!!!"
