Andy and I were so happy you were there with us every step of the way.

About The Wedding
Alex contacted me a few months before her wedding on the recommendation of her maid of honor, Rachel (whose wedding I was planning for the month before Alex's). Alex and Andy are busy attorneys in New York, and she needed some help wrapping up the details and wanted to be sure she wasn't forgetting anything. The wedding was an intimate, elegant affair. The day started with the girls getting ready at the Miller-Ward Alumni House. This is a benefit of this fabulous venue - you get the whole building, with its spacious upstairs area, for the whole day of the wedding. I touched up the wedding gown with my trusty iron and ironing board while the girls dressed. Alex then had bridal portraits around the alumni house property, followed by First Look photos with Andy. We all then traveled to Christ The King, where they were married in a candlelit evening ceremony. Back to the Alumni House we went, where guests enjoyed different vegetarian dinner stations from Epic Events, wedding cake, and a Polish donut station (mmmmm). We Got The Beat packed the dance floor - the guests could hardly stand for the dancing to end, and begged for two encores. However, all good things must come to an end, and the band made their escape just as Alex and Andy did too.

My Favorite Detail
To honor Alex's family roots, her parents performed a traditional Polish welcome as she and Andy entered the reception. All four parents greeted the couple at the door, and served them bread, salt and wine. Bread to signify wishes that they will never hunger or be in need; salt to remind them that life may be difficult at times; and wine in the hope that the couple will never thirst and that they will have a life of good health and good cheer, and share the company of many good friends.

My Favorite Moment
Having done Rachel's wedding just a month earlier, it was so fun to visit with her and Dave, and hear their thoughts about their wedding. Many times I never get the chance for that follow-up. I love reliving the day with the couple!
