About The Wedding
Larkin and Matt are third generation high school sweethearts - following behind Larkin's parents and grandparents. I worked closely with Larkin, who is in pharmacy school in South Carolina, and her mom, who lives here in Atlanta, throughout the whole planning process, starting with the venue selection. Although Larkin was worried about heat, she fell instantly in love with the Trustees Garden at the Atlanta Botanical Garden and chose August 2 as the big day. A wedding day miracle occurred: despite much anxiety on Larkin's part, we had stunningly beautiful weather (75 degrees - cool for August, and the predicted rain never came). Larkin and Matt were married in a lovely, personalized ceremony accompanied by a strings group and enhanced by gorgeous decor hanging from the wooden arbor backdrop. The pastor was a great friend of the family - Larkin's grandfather was supposed to officiate but sadly, he passed away prior to the wedding. They used his bible and stole during the ceremony, and also included a ring warming ceremony. The program hand fans were quite popular for the ceremony and the cocktail hour in the Parterre Garden, as guests wandered the Garden and signed the wooden tree guest book. Escort cards, which were hung from manzanita branches, let guests know which table they were seated at for the delicious buffet dinner. Once they entered Day Hall for dinner, guests found that the tables were named after dates and places that were to Larkin and Matt - such as their dogs, some important date locations, the Botanical Gardens, and the wedding day itself. The room was stunning, with fabulous decor in which succulents and specialty linens figured prominently. Larkin's favorite detail was the blue chair ties woven into the chair backs - a little touch that made a big impact. After enjoying delicious wedding cake and having fun on the dance floor and in the photo booth, Larkin and Matt departed in his father's vintage Mustang - the coolest departure car I've ever seen!

My Favorite Detail
The "Our Love Story" table, complete with props (the bouquet Larkin caught at one of her Matrons of Honor's wedding), telling the story of Larkin and Matt through high school, college and beyond.

My Favorite Moment
Showing Larkin the reception room and seeing her jaw drop and tears come to her eyes. The decor was very important to her and her mother, and after a lot of discussion and compromising, it was so beautiful and just what they BOTH wanted.

Comments From The Family
"I would highly recommend that those planning a wedding use Daria for these services. We chose to use one of her plans that included greater time and assistance in the planning of the event. She also had some great vendor relationships that assisted us in having a fantastic event. The day of the wedding was run smoothly due to her direction and could not have been better. She is accessible, responsive, well liked by vendors, generous with her time in communications, and organized. We went way over our budget but this was our choice and we never felt pressured to extend ourselves by her. She did have vendors of various price points we could have used. She kept everything on track and handled any problems on the wedding day with ease. We had an amazing wedding and are grateful to Daria for her hard work and the results. ~ Susan (MOB)
