About The Wedding
Katie's mom called me to help with the wedding planning about halfway through the planning process, as they were working on hiring vendors and running into some questions. Since Katie and Mike live out of state, I didn't meet them until a few months later! The wedding was classic and lovely in the newly renovated Ritz Buckhead ballroom. A family friend of the groom's father conducted a funny and touching ceremony, accompanied by the bride's sister's piano instructor. Guests entertained themselves prior to the ceremony with a word search printed in the program - such a cute idea! The guest book was a gorgeous handmade quilt, a gift from Katie's college roommate's mother. All the guests signed their well wishes right on the quilt with special fabric-safe pens. What a lovely keepsake! Cocktail hour took place in the foyer, and guests were soon ushered into the grand ballroom, where they marveled over the beautifully decorated and lighted estate table, which Katie had placed in the middle of the tables (rather than the usual spot right up by the dance floor). It was lovely for them to be surrounded by all of their guests throughout the evening! The cakes were also showcased: a traditional bride's cake with lots of purple flowers, and a groom's cake decorated with the logo of the groom's father's boat, the Sea Pickle. After a delicious seated dinner, the dance floor opened, and didn't slow down for the rest of the evening. Katie and Mike departed as guests rang silver bells, to their Kiawah Island mini-moon.
My Favorite Detail
Katie and her florist came up with the idea to tuck a sprig of dried lavender into each napkin, and Katie also had some in her bouquet. Lavender is said to bring good luck, and it is also a symbol of love and devotion, making it a particularly meaningful flower to include in the wedding decor. Not only that, it also has calming properties, meaning that it may remove some pre-wedding jitters when sniffed.
My Favorite Moment
Towards the end of the evening, Katie left the dance floor and went to sit and visit with her grandmother and her great aunts. That's just one example of the sweet and thoughtful person she is!

Comments From The Couple
"Daria is absolutely fantastic! There are not enough words to express how thankful I am for her help throughout the wedding planning process. She was very quick to respond to my questions and concerns and handled any issues that arose with my vendors on the wedding weekend without ever getting me involved. My wedding ended being exactly what I had hoped for because of her and i would recommend her to any bride." ~ Katie (bride)

"How fortunate we were that you were available for our date. Your enthusiasm, expertise, organization and kind manner were appreciated and valued. We always felt like we were being taken care of. Katie and Mike had the wedding they dreamed of, and we were able to make it a reality following your lead! Daria, we hit it off during our initial phone conversation and I knew we had to do this together after you mentioned not only taking care of the bride, but also the MOB! You love what you're doing and it shows. Hugs." Stewart and Ann Marie Factor ~ (parents of the bride)
