About The Wedding
Stephanie and Alex, two lawyers with their own firm in Jonesboro, wanted an elegant, classic and traditional wedding. The reception was to be held at the Four Seasons Hotel (which certainly meets all those criteria!), and originally the ceremony was going to be held there as well. However, Stephanie, who is part Lebanese, found a small Melkite Catholic church in Atlanta that follows the Byzantine Catholic traditions of her family, so we made some logistical adjustments and continued on with the planning. The wedding weekend coincided with Atlanta's famous Dogwood Festival, and the weather could not have been more beautiful (although the traffic was horrific!). After a relaxing morning in her suite at the Four Seasons and photos around the hotel, the girls and I boarded the bus for the church. Part of the Lebanese tradition is for the bride to arrive at the church right before the processional begins. This is a bit of a departure from my normal schedule and caused a couple of tense moments for me as we battled the traffic, but we arrived right on time and the ceremony went off without a hitch! The Byzantine Catholic wedding ceremony is completely different from the Roman Catholic ceremonies I am used to. The couple is officially betrothed in front of all the witnesses, and then crowned as king and queen, to symbolize the start of their new family. The numeral three is heavily represented (for the Trinity), and everything is done three times: sipping from the wine cup, circling the altar, and more. It was a fascinating and beautiful ceremony, rife with symbolism and tradition. See this website for more information:

After the ceremony, we all headed back to the Four Seasons for the reception. The cocktail hour took place outdoors on the upper level terrace, and after enjoying the beautiful spring evening air, guests made their way back downstairs to the beautifully decorated ballroom. Petals created centerpieces in tones of white and pink, with silver candelabrum and lots of mercury glass candles. The band, the Del Baroni Orchestra, struck the perfect notes (ha ha) of elegance and fun - the dance floor was full the whole night. Guests enjoyed a plated dinner, wedding cake and a surprise late night snack of sliders and fries. Stephanie and Alex departed in a cloud of bubbles to a relaxing Florida honeymoon.

My Favorite Detail
For favors, Stephanie and Alex provided small bags of coffee from a local company in nearby McDonough that they love to frequent, the Queen Bee Coffee Company.

My Favorite Moment
Had to be when we pulled up at the church right on time! I jumped out of the van, lined up the family and wedding party and the bride, sent them down the aisle, and breathed a huge sigh of relief!

Comments From The Couple
"Thank you so much for everything! We had an amazing wedding and everything was perfect! Besides Atlanta traffic, nothing to my knowledge did not go as planned. You are amazing! The wedding went so incredibly smooth. I knew we were running behind schedule with hair and makeup, but you never mentioned it (at least to me). You kept everyone calm and made adjustments seamlessly so as not to make it stressful or hectic in any way. My dad, from the time we were waiting in the car to walk down the aisle, to the dancing, kept saying how perfectly organized everything was and how seamlessly everything ran. He was seriously in disbelief at how smooth the day went. That was ALL you! During the planning process you kept me on track. I would have been lost without your guidance. We had both mothers in town to "help" the week before the wedding, but there was really nothing much to help with because everything was ready to roll. So instead of being stressed and running around the week before the wedding, we were able to enjoy having all of our family and friends in town that week. Again, thank you so much for EVERYTHING!" ~ Stephanie and Alex
