About The Wedding
Megan and her mom are very close, especially since Megan's dad passed away a few years ago. They had a lot of fun planning every detail of the wedding together. We toured several venues and Megan fell in love with the elegance of the Georgian Terrace. It was perfect for their small, intimate but over the top wedding. Although only 60 guests attended, Megan and her mom pulled out all the stops to ensure that it was the wedding event of a lifetime. One thing Megan was very clear about from the beginning was that the decor was to be glamourous - "no mason jars." She loves trees and branches. Our florist created stunning 8 feet tall manzanita branch arrangements to frame the couple during the ceremony, which were wired with many white orchids. The effect was absolutely stunning. No decor or paper detail was overlooked, with specialty linens used throughout the rooms, a family photo display with identifying tags, a tongue-in-cheek program, escort cards on gold mirrored trays, customized photo booth strips, and Godiva chocolate favors at each place setting. Guests were assured not to go hungry, with a large shrimp cocktail display (Megan's dad always said it wasn't a party unless there was shrimp cocktail, so of course this was a must for the wedding); dinner stations; two kinds of cake; and a late-night s'mores station. Then, after partying with their guests, Megan and Richard departed with their wedding party for late-late-night snacks at the Varsity. The perfect end to their classic Atlanta wedding!

My Favorite Detail
Although they are not Jewish, Megan and Richard included a marriage contract into their ceremony as their unity tradition. They had a beautiful print made, which had an image of the tree of life (typical ketubah imagery) and words about marriage. They, their honor attendants, and the officiant all signed it during the ceremony, and now they can hang it in their home. I've always loved the tradition and the beautiful artwork of a Jewish ketubah. I wish I'd thought of this at my own wedding!

My Favorite Moment
One of the two things that were very important to Richard was the groom's cake (the other was video, in case you're curious). As a rabid Redwings hockey fan, he worked closely with our baker to create a larger than life stadium cake, with the purple octopus rising up from the middle of it. It was truly an amazing work of art! One of his uncles in particular had fostered his love of the game, so Richard had the idea to bring him into the ballroom during cocktail hour for a sneak peek at the cake. Watching him being led in by Richard, with his eyes closed, and then seeing (and hearing) his joy at the cake was so worth it! The cake, which was actually mostly made of Rice Krispies, was sent home with Richard's parents (unbeknownst to him), to make another surprise appearance at the hockey game watching parties later this year. So fun!

Comments From The Couple
"Killer Wedding!" and " The wedding to which all other weddings should aspire..."

"These are just two of the compliments that we received at our recent wedding and we could not have done it without Daria. The wedding planner was our first major decision in the wedding planning process and we could not be happier that we chose Daria. With each vendor that we booked, our decision was validated when they would say, "We LOVE Daria, and we're a little scared of Daria". LOL When you hire Daria, you don't have to worry about anything, because she takes care of everything. She went above and beyond to make our wedding perfect, from her lists of incredible vendors, to her detailed checklists, no detail was overlooked. When I was standing in my reception, that I swear looked like it came straight out of a Pinterest board, I was able to just soak it in and enjoy it because I knew that if anything happened, Daria had it covered. Without a doubt she was the best decision and the best money that we spent during the whole wedding process." ~ Megan and Richard (bride and groom)
