About The Wedding
Rosalie's family emigrated to the US from Soviet Russia, and her Jewish parents built a successful life here - her mother is a pediatrician. Phil's family has Irish Catholic roots. Their wedding was a beautiful combination of the two traditions. As we worked on planning the wedding, Rosalie and Phil's lives became increasingly complicated. Rosalie was already in medical school when we met, following in her mother's footsteps. Then she became pregnant with their son Alex (causing us to have to shuffle the wedding date, as his due date was the original wedding date!). Lastly, Rosalie received her residency assignment in the spring: to Savannah, causing them to have to pack up their house and find a home there - all during the last month of wedding planning. Whew! Thankfully, Rosalie's mom and sister were very helpful to her throughout the planning process, and we had a wonderful vendor team who made things easy. The wedding day dawned sunny and mild, although weather wasn't really a factor, since we were indoors at the Ritz for the entire event. However, after a lovely family photo session with baby Alex, Rosalie and Phil did slip outside for some photos, before returning in for family photos at the huppah and the ketubah signing. The ceremony sounds like the opener to an old joke: a rabbi and a priest walk into the Ritz... Both mothers were a bit concerned about incorporating their family traditions into the ceremony, but in the end, they both agreed it turned out to be a perfect mix. Cocktail hour followed, while Rosalie and Phil slipped away to enjoy a leisurely private dinner together. Then the doors to the stunning ballroom opened, and guests were wowed by the centerpiece estate table with a suspended bank of flowers which extended the entire length of the table. Rosalie and Phil visited tables as guests enjoyed a seated dinner and a slideshow presentation. Then it was time to dance! Fortunately, the revelers were sustained by two cakes (Phil's cake was a super cute Hobbit-themed creation), two dessert stations, and a late-night passed snack - surely no one went hungry! The wedding was a high note ending to an eventful year for Rosalie and Phil, and the perfect beginning for their new life together.

My Favorite Detail
Their ketubah was designed with a four seasons theme, and included quotes from the Song of Solomon (I am my beloved's, and my beloved is mine). It was just gorgeous!

My Favorite Moment
I loved the feeling of relaxation that permeated the day (and which Rosalie commented upon several times). They had plenty of time to get ready, take lots of photos, spend special moments with their families, and also alone together. In the midst of their busy lives, the wedding weekend was an oasis of calm, which they richly deserved and greatly appreciated!
