About The Wedding
Nancy is our mortgage consultant and when she called me to get started planning Lacy's wedding, I just assumed she was calling to tell me it was time to refinance! I was so flattered that I was the first call they made. Together we worked on choosing the venues and all of the vendors throughout nine months of planning. After much debate, Lacy and Preston settled on holding the ceremony at Lacy's home church, which in the end was quite meaningful for her and her family. The reception was held at the Country Club of the South, and a major benefit of the Club is that there is a 4 bedroom villa adjoining the ballroom that the bride can rent out for the weekend. The bridesmaids all stayed there, and Lacy and the girls had hair and makeup and dressed there - it was extremely convenient! Then we simply walked outside for Lacy and Preston's First Look photos and the family and wedding party pictures. In between photographs, Lacy darted inside the ballroom to get a quick shot of air conditioning and see the set-up progress! Lacy and Preston each rode to the church with their parents, as they didn't want to see each other pre-ceremony once they arrived at the church. Lacy's cousin and her brother sang two beautiful songs during the ceremony, while a family friend played piano. Lacy's dad is a chef, and provided several of the hors d'oeuvre options, as guests enjoyed the shaded terrace back at the Club for cocktail hour while three of Lacy's friends performed music. The ballroom was elegant with columns of white drapery to soften the space and gorgeous flowers in shades of ivory and soft pink. The ceremony arrangements were repurposed on the grand estate table that was the focal point of the room. Guests feasted on dinner stations that offered street-style tacos, pasta, salad and prime rib. Lacy's cake was a traditional white-tiered confection, while Preston's was a replica of Tennessee's football field (of course the DJ played Rocky Top while they cut that cake!). This crowd loved to dance, and DJ Hollon kept the dance floor packed with Amp'd Entertainment's signature wedding mash-ups. All good parties must come to an end, alas, so Lacy and Preston departed in a white Bentley as guests lit the way with sparklers.

My Favorite Detail
Preston's family wanted to provide a surprise guest book, which Lacy was not at all sure about. After some sleuthing, Lacy discovered that they planned to provide quilt squares for guests to sign, and then a family member would create a quilt for them. The squares were thoughtfully provided in the neutral wedding colors, and Lacy was thrilled with the idea!

My Favorite Moment
Lacy's brother had planned with me and the DJ that he would perform a surprise song for Lacy and Preston during the reception. We kept the secret perfectly, and I had recommended that we do the song right after the last toast. Lacy was completely shocked, and the song was so wonderfully sweet. Michael had changed the words of God Blessed The Broken Road a bit, so it was as if Preston was finding Lacy. Very appropriate for the high-school sweethearts who had dated for eight years before finally tying the knot!

Comments From The Bride
"When I am speaking to these vendors they keep telling me that you are fabulous to work with and that I am in good hands...although I already knew that. So might as well go ahead and give you a big thank you for what you have done and what you continue to do for us!!!" Lacy (bride), a few months out from the wedding

Comments From The Family
"We do not even know where to start to thank you for a perfect wedding day for Lacy. You were truly remarkable and I felt no stress the entire weekend because of you. We were both able to sit back and completely enjoy the moment, enjoy all of our family and friends that were attending, and witness the beautiful event unfold. Lacy said it was even more perfect than she could ever have imagined. All your advice and direction were exactly what we all needed. I have and will continue to spread the word to anyone who may be planning a wedding that it cannot be done without Daria!! From our hearts to you, Nancy and Scott Grieve" (parents of the bride)
