Alissa & Will

About The Wedding
Alissa and Will planned a classic Atlanta wedding, which took place in two historic locations: the beautiful All Saints church in Midtown, and the Piedmont Driving Club. As the wedding was on a Friday, traffic was a big concern, especially as Alissa (who travels for work and has many, many Starwood points) and the ladies got ready at the St. Regis in Buckhead. We took advantage of the beautiful setting to get lots of great photos of Alissa and the girls, and then we headed off to the church. We arrived in plenty of time for Alissa to have a sweet Dad's First Look moment with her father, and we kept her safely away from Will's sight until the ceremony. Soon enough it was time to walk down the aisle, which was overlooked by gorgeous, recently (finished on Thursday!) renovated stained glass windows. Our good timing continued as we headed to the Driving Club - there was hardly any traffic! Quite unusual for a Friday in Atlanta, and we had gorgeous cool weather to boot. Oddly, there were no Uber cars to be had, so we wedged Alissa and Will into the limo with the wedding party, and headed off to the Club. Guests were already enjoying the cocktail hour in the courtyard, as Alissa and Will took more photos and then enjoyed their private dinner. Guests entered the gorgeously decorated ballroom and marveled at the showpiece estate table with two gigantic topiaries, and then enjoyed a seated dinner of chicken breast with shallot jus, boursin whipped potatoes and broccolini, with almond wedding cake for dessert. Mo Sol played two amazing dance sets, and then it was time for Alissa and Will to depart in a vintage car as guests lit sparklers.

My Favorite Detail
Alissa loves the rustic style of decor, including chalkboards and burlap. Although one would think this style doesn't mesh well with the classic elegance of the Piedmont Driving Club, she managed to pull it off! The incredibly talented Lucy Holloway wrote the seating charts and drew a map of the ballroom on large chalkboards, which were placed in the cocktail hour. The table number signs were mini chalkboards which we tied onto the Club's ornate silver table number stands with twine. And the menu cards, also designed by Lucy, stood one per table in mini wooden stands. It was a very different look in the Club, and it worked!

My Favorite Moment
As much time as we spent thinking about the traffic and making sure we had enough time built into the schedule to accommodate possible delays, it all paid off as the day felt very relaxed, never rushed. I always want my clients to experience that feeling of calm smoothness on the wedding day!
