Rebecca & Terrance

About The Wedding
Rebecca, who is extremely detailed and organized, contacted me 11 months out hoping for simple wedding day coordination. It turned out well that my coordination service is much more involved, since almost immediately we ran into some drama with the venue contract, and ended up having to change the wedding date. This was a very stressful time for Rebecca, and I was glad to be there to help her through it! The rest of the planning was smooth and easy (even though we had a personnel change at the caterer in the last few weeks before the wedding), and we had a beautiful (if hot!) wedding day! Atlanta in September is still summer, y'all! The ladies dressed at the W Midtown, and then we walked over to the Wimbish House for First Look photos. I have to give the hotel major props, because as we walked through the lobby loaded down with the gown and all the ladies' gear, the concierge insisted on driving Rebecca and the bridesmaids over in the hotel car. I do love great service like that!
The ceremony was officiated by Rebecca's uncle, who, in a twist I've never had before, was also the DJ! The couple exchanged sweet personalized vows and poured unity glass pieces (which would later be melted together to create a keepsake vase) in front of a cool modern metal frame decorated with asymmetrical flower bursts. The ballroom was then flipped, and decorated with custom linens and beautiful flowers in fall tones of orange and plum. Guests found their seats and enjoyed a plated dinner with a choice of beef, chicken, salmon or vegetarian. Since there were so many gluten-free guests, Endive was able to make the entire menu gluten-free, so no one had to worry! For dessert, there were delicious mini cupcakes as well as coconut macaroons. Rebecca and Terrance are a super fun couple with a large group of friends, and you could just tell that they were all having an amazing time dancing. What great memories they will have of this night! Soon enough it was time for the couple to depart, as guests showered them with lavender.
My Favorite Detail
One of Rebecca's bridesmaids handcrafted fabulous paper flower boutonnieres and bridesmaids' bouquets in shades of orange. The bouquets were not the typical gathering of smaller blooms, but rather one gorgeous Dr. Suess-esque gigantic poppy. They looked amazing and SO unique!
My Favorite Moment
Terrance's best friend and best man is stationed overseas and unfortunately was unable to get leave to come back for the wedding. They are childhood friends who had always promised each other they would be each other's best man, a promise which Terrance had already fulfilled, and which Chris was determined to fulfill to the best of his ability! Through the miracle of technology, we set up a live web feed so Chris could hear the beautiful toasts, and he then topped everyone with a heartfelt speech of his own. There wasn't a dry eye in the house
