About The Wedding
Holly and Brad returned to their native Atlanta from NYC and had a classic, traditional Buckhead wedding at a charming historic church and the beautiful Grand Hyatt Hotel. Holly and Brad each spent a relaxing morning at the hotel getting ready. After a sweet ceremony officiated by a family friend from Lovett, we headed back to the Grand Hyatt. Holly and Brad enjoyed their private date and we added custom sleeves and a different belt to her gown and changed her veil for jeweled combs for her reception look. Then it was time to party! Guests enjoyed a delicious stations dinner, and two kinds of cake, and the hotel's signature chocolate truffles as favors. The ballroom looked amazing, with linens in shades of gold and navy, and flowers in shades of ivory, purple and blue. A decor highlight was the bourbon bar, with at least 15 types of whiskey and bourbon, and actual barrels used to decorate the table. It was a popular stop throughout the evening, for sure! Holly and Brad departed as guests lit sparklers, to their honeymoon and then back to their brand new apartment in NYC.

My Favorite Detail
Most cakes I have seen lately have been plain, traditional white cakes with flowers. Holly went in a different direction and brought color into her cake, which was a beautiful sculpted confection in the wedding colors of navy and gold, with peonies cascading down - stunning!

My Favorite Moment
The summer heat (100 degrees!) caused us to move the cocktail hour inside, with the lovely consequence that we were able to bring Holly and Brad up to the hotel's outdoor terrace and Japanese garden for post-ceremony photos. What a restful setting for some private time together!
