About The Wedding
I have to say this is one of the coolest weddings I've ever done! First of all, the Fox Theatre really is fabulous - so iconically Atlanta and just really fun. Margot and Travis envisioned a Moroccan theme and wanted their wedding to feel like a concert for the guests. Upon entering, escort cards designed to look like concert tickets told guests where they would be seated for dinner. The couple's adorable two-year-old daughter almost stole the show as she made her entrance down the aisle in a wagon filled with rose petals. After an extremely beautiful, moving ceremony officiated by Margot and Travis's dear friend, guests entered the ballroom full of anticipation for the entertainment to come. On each seat was a captain's hat to give a hint, and the tables were decorated with colorful Moroccan lanterns and flowers in jewel tones. While they waited, they were treated to a gorgeous belly dancing performance and a delicious stations dinner, with Southern favorites, including a pie station for dessert. If any guest happened to glance up to the balcony, they would have seen Margot's gift to Travis: a painter from New Orleans capturing the reception as it unfolded. Finally it was time for the main highlight - local celebrities Yacht Rock Revue took the stage and wowed the crowd with 70s easy listening favorites. Another high point was when Travis, a professional drummer on the side, took the stage to play a song with the band. On breaks, Margot's hilarious cousin emceed toasts and generally entertained the crowd. Despite a tragedy in their family during the wedding planning, Margot and Travis and their families had an amazing wedding - what a blessing. I was honored to be a part of their celebration.

My Favorite Detail
Margot loves belly dancing, and had the idea to have belly dancers come to entertain the crowd during cocktail hour. I was so glad she decided to do it - their performance was a highlight of the evening and really set a fun tone for the party.

My Favorite Moment
I loved the entire ceremony, but my favorite moment was Margot's vows to Travis's 10-year-old son. She vowed that she would always love him, not as a substitute parent, but as an adult friend he could depend on. Everyone was in tears - Margot, Travis, Tag, the officiant, most of the guests, and me!
