About The Wedding

I worked for a year with Anna and her mom, Amelia, to plan Anna and Zach's classic Atlanta wedding. The January day dawned cold but mercifully clear - we were all crossing our fingers that there wouldn't be a winter storm on the big day! Anna and her girls had a fun time getting ready at Anna's parent's house. Anna is very close to her family, and I witnessed many tender family moments among her, her parents and her sister. I love it when the day gets off to a beautiful start like that - it sets the tone for the rest of the day to run smoothly, which it did! To take advantage of the daylight, we planned a photo session at the Club prior to the wedding. It was freezing cold and windy, but they were troopers and we got some great shots on the golf course before piling into the trolley and heading to the church. Anna and her family are long-time members of All Saints, so it was very special to have the wedding there. After the lovely ceremony, we headed back to the Club to party!

The Club was gorgeous, decorated with masses of white, blue and green flowers in blue and white china containers - a unique and beautiful look. I can honestly say this was one of the most relaxed, flowing receptions I've ever coordinated. We allowed guests to use the whole space at Club, and we didn't include a lot of wedding traditions (like toasts). Anna and Zach were able to mingle freely, visit everyone, take some more group pictures, and most importantly, dance! It was exactly how a wedding should be: just what the couple wanted.

My Favorite Detail
Anna kept the personal items to a minimum, but since family is very important to her and Zach, we set up a beautiful table of photos of the weddings of parents and grandparents. This is always such a special addition, and guests have a great time reminiscing while viewing the pictures. We also displayed their guest book there - a coffee table book about Sea Island, one of the couple's favorite places to vacation.

My Favorite Moment
Anna was a bit nervous as we were getting ready to line up for the ceremony. To distract her, the 7 year-old flower girl started up an ad lib comedy routine that turned everyone's tears into guffaws of laughter. That kid should have a YouTube channel!
